Queremos um Ano Novo! / We want a New Year!

Justiça e Paz. Ainda não foi em 2007. Vamos tentar de novo?

Sol ainda frio
rompendo a geada,
pontual, o gomo.

Peace and Justice. Not yet possible in 2007. Let's try again?

Sun still cold
breaking through the frost,
punctual, the bud.

Será a poesia? / Would it be poetry?

Espiral infinita
cantando silenciosa
no nosso corpo.

sings silently

Mar: auto retrato / Sea: self portrait

O Sol de Inverno / The Winter Sun

Como mão de amigo
o Sol de Inverno amorna
os meus ombros.

Like a friend's hand
the Winter Sun makes my shoulders
lukewarm.

Ainda o Homem e a Natureza... / Still Man and Nature...

A Vida interrompe a Natureza
e a Natureza interrompe a Vida.

A reflection about the relationship between Man and Nature:

Life interrupts Nature
And Nature interrupts Life.

As comunicações e a comunicação / Communications and communication

Tantas pontes
e cada vez vou menos
para a outra margem.

So many bridges
and is so rare to travel
to the other bank

Uma resposta iluminada / An enlighted answer

Publiquei no dia 21 de Dezembro este haiku:

Sozinho à janela
a olhar a água da chuva
que sabe onde ir.

E recebi esta resposta iluminada:

Contigo à janela
a olhar a água da chuva
já sei onde ir

I published on the 21st December this haiku:

Alone on the window
looking at the rain
that konws where to go

And I got this answer:

With you at the window
Looking at the rain
I already know where to go.

Podia ser Jesus a nascer? / Could it be the birth of Jesus?

Memórias de Natal / Christmas memories

Como cascas de árvore
as memórias frutuam
no rio da música

As barks
memories flote on the river
of music

Haiku no feminino / A female haiku

mulher e pimenta

Merecer a poesia / To deserve poetry

A poet told me some days ago: "I am stoping my writing... people don't deserve it!" Don't deserve it... Do I need that they deserve it? Poor of me if they don't deserve it...

Prazeres e dores / Pleasures and pains

Prazeres e dores
têm que ser raros
senão não são.

Pleasures and pains
must be rare
otherwise don't exist.

Por onde anda a poesia? / Where is poetry?

Where is poetry? Hidden in the friendship? So private that is embarassing to share? Forgotten in the childwood? Is poetry a matter of "poets"? Where is poetry that seems to be so far, far away from our everyday life?

Outro êxtase... / Another ecstasy...

Obrigado!

Flor na lareira
beleza que se apaga
fumo em êxtase.

In the North we are now looking for hearths to face the cold weather. A visitor of this blog left us a haiku reminding us that ecstasy is not only on the sea wave but also of the smoke. Thank you!

A flower in the hearth
Beauty that vanishes
Smoke in ecstasy.

O certo do incerto /The uncertain certain

E a constância
de um bambú
batido pelo vento?

What about
The constancy of the bamboo
restless by the wind ?

Entre nós há rios
pontes de palavras

and mirrors in the banks

Ainda a Natureza / Still Nature

Natureza, ela
já é oração sem prece.
Para quê rezar?

An unkown visitor of this blog left as a comment about "Nature and Haiku" an excelent Haiku. Here it is:

Nature is already
a pray without words.
Why to pray?

É a suprema sabedoria?

What do we think about Nature? Is the supreme wisdom? Something we have to go behond? Is the Nature perfet? Implacable? What is the meaning of writing haiku poetry linked with Nature? (Ref: Gonçalo M Tavares "Learning to pray in the technological era")
