When we talk about haiku the most common image is 5-7-5. This formula seems an invencible football and a haiku production tactic. But the essential of the haiku is not metrics; is what in Japanese is called "haimi" and maybe what the greeks called "pathos". Without "haimi" haiku is an exercise.
